Inauguration Elyloos

In 2018, we held a ceremony to mark the inauguration of the new membrane electrolysis production facility at the site of Loos. This marks a new milestone in the history of Tessenderlo Group, as the new plant provides state-of-the-art technology to produce chlorine, sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and potassium hydroxide (KOH).

We have recently invested in a new electrolysis plant in Loos, where we now have the best available technology for the production of chlorine, sodium hydroxide, or potassium hydroxide. The site in Loos is the largest production plant for water treatment coagulants in Europe. The new membrane electrolysis production facility confirms the commitment of Tessenderlo Group to the long-term continuity of supply to its customers. It also allows the group to serve both external market demand as well as internal consumption of sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide. In addition to securing continuity for the current activities in Loos, this investment also offers new opportunities for the further development of the site.” (Stéphane Leclef, former BU Director)
